Meet our student leadership! These are the people to talk to if you have any questions about Ghetto Shul – keep reading to find out some more about us!
Hi! I’m Fabiana Chamis, Kitchen and Finance Coordinator for Ghetto Shul. I’m a 3rd year student at McGill studying Global Food Security and I love playing Ultimate Frisbee, making tasty food, and exploring nature. My favorite parts of Ghetto Shul are cooking exquisite Shabbat dinners, energetic community meetings, and the opportunity to build community with other students. If you would like to get involved at Ghetto Shul, one of the easiest ways is to help create our weekly Shabbat meals. Sign up to cook or clean here, or contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions. If you have purchased something for Ghetto Shul programming, email a picture of your receipt to email@example.com for a reimbursement.
Hey! I’m Jonah Winer, Program Coordinator for Ghetto Shul! I am in my fourth and final year McGill in Religious Studies and Canadian Studies. I help coordinate religious programming like our Friday night services, holidays events, and community learning. I also get to help bring your ideas fabulous Jewish community events to life! If you have an idea for a program, any questions, or are looking to get involved, don’t hesitate reach out to me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Hope to see you at Ghetto Shul soon!
Hey! I’m Juli Isaac, and I am the Communications Coordinator for Ghetto Shul! I am a 4th year student at McGill’s Macdonald Campus, studying Bioresource Engineering. At Ghetto Shul, I run social media outlets, help our emails stay organized, and distribute our monthly newsletter. That means I get to take all those fun candid pictures of our students helping the community, and make you all social media stars! Aside from that, I’m passionate about agriculture and can often be found discussing Judaism and agriculture at Friday night dinner. If you want to get in touch with me, you can email me at email@example.com. Can’t wait to see you at Ghetto Shul!
I’m Sarah Binney, and I am one of the kitchen coordinators for Ghetto Shul! I am a second year McGill student studying Linguistics and Hispanic studies. Every week, I make sure that amazing, home-cooked meals are ready in time for Shabbat. On Thursdays, I make sure an amazing group of Ghetto-shulers are chopping, sautéing, and roasting so that on Friday night we can have a sustainable and tasty dinner. I love schmoozing about all things culinary, linguistic, and Jewish. If you want to join the cooking party, have questions or ideas about food at Ghetto Shul, or want to talk to me about anything, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Hey! I’m Sarah Rubin and I am Program Coordinator for Ghetto Shul! I am a 3rd year student at McGill, studying Environment and Health. At Ghetto Shul, I plan weekday events and work with new and existing members to make their event dreams come true. This summer I will be working on a permaculture farm in Vermont and I am excited to create some garden/sustainability/etc programming this upcoming year! Pickling and parsha anyone? If you want to get in touch with me, you can email me at email@example.com. Can’t wait to see you at Ghetto Shul!
Hi there! I’m Zoë Goldstein, and I am the Outreach Coordinator for Ghetto Shul. I’m in my 5th year (yes, it’s possible!), and I study Psychology and Russian Studies. As Outreach Coordinator, I do my best to spread the beauty of our community to those who have not yet experienced it. I greet newcomers (which happens to be one of my favourite things to do), and will never turn down a coffee date with those interested in Judaism and community. I love contemporary dance, talking about emotions, and no, I don’t curl my hair.
Please contact me! I’d love to hear from you either on Facebook or through email at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
