Join us every Friday night during the school year at the historic Bagg Street Synagogue for exciting musical services at 7:30 pm followed by a delicious student cooked sustainable dinner at 8:30 pm with lots of babka and singing to follow. Make sure to bring all of your friends!
Sustainable Shabbat is one of Ghetto Shul’s most popular (and delicious) programs, where we connect to the Earth and to our Jewish roots. Every week, the Ghetto Shul community teams up with local farmers to provide a locally sourced Shabbat meal. Ghetto Shul gets lively on Thursday nights: the music plays late into the night as we concoct our newest batch of recipes, using organic chicken and seasonal vegetables from the Montreal area. Anyone is welcome to lend a hand, and members of our community come out in great numbers every week. Friday nights, after our spirited Kabbalat Shabbat services, we serve our Sustainable Shabbat feast. It’s a great opportunity to see friends old and new, to practice a sustainable lifestyle, and to be part of a vibrant and inclusive Jewish atmosphere.
